Look-Out...Here It Comes!

     It seems that in ‘the wink of an eye’ the weather has ‘taken a turn’. Less than one week ago it was SO hot and humid, for several days running, that it felt, truly, LIKE Summer for the very first time; guess the season wanted to ‘go out with a BANG’ before Autumn arrives...which feels like right about NOW! As I sit here this PM, beside the open-window near my ‘favorite’-seat in the house, a very cool breeze is filtering in. Rather than feeling relieved by it’s refreshing quality I’m actually a tad ‘chilled’; CRAZY how things change SO quick, especially with respect to the weather. I’ve been reading and hearing about our ‘up and coming’ Winter; and from all accounts I’m learning that, due to El Niño, an event that offers the potential for much needed precipitation across large parts of the US, we may be INUNDATED with the ‘white-stuff’ this year; some ‘forecasts’ suggesting that in certain parts of the country we could realize from 10 to 100X’s the snow we saw last Winter. C’mon...REALLY??? To add ‘insult to injury’, the s**w ( I treat this word as I do the OTHER ‘S-Word’!) will be making it’s appearance earlier than as is typical for these parts, as in September and October! OUCH! Oh well...what can we do, after all? The weather has a ‘mind of it’s own’, doncha know? In the meantime, I’ll make certain to ‘get out there’ and enjoy the waning warm-weathered days; there’s nothing else TO do, right? Mother-Nature NEVER ceases to amaze me and ALWAYS keeps me guessin’. My ONLY gripe is that with Her in charge She ‘dictates’ what I wear; and I’m NOT quite ready to do away with my Summer-attire as I’m a short-sleeves and sandals kinda gal; preferring this type garb over heavy-layers ANY day of the week. With this being said, my Mother didn’t raise NO fool, and I KNOW how to dress myself for the impending COLD. So if and when you may encounter me during these upcoming Fall and Winter months and you see me dressed like an Eskimo, know that underneath ALL of the sweaters, thermals, socks, boots, hat(s), gloves and scarves is a ‘spaghetti’-strapped sundress DYING to get out! Just Sayin’...
