The
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is looking for volunteers at its Rhode Island
locations, including:
- Kettle
Pond Visitor - Trustom
Pond Wildlife Refuge - John
H. Chafee Wildlife Rrefuge - Ninigret
Wildlife Refuge - Block
Island Wildlife Refuge - Sachuest
Point Wildlife Refuge and Visitor Center
No
special training is need. Some of the duties include:
- Greeting
visitors and providing information at the front desk, or on the trail. - Leading
tours and providing interpretation to the visiting public and groups. - Taking
part in special projects and events (Plover Monitoring, Green Cafe and
Wildlife Wednesdays Lecture Series, Kayak Monitoring, Weed Warrior
Invasive Plant Pulls). - Volunteer
as few or as many hours as you can. - Meet
new people while enjoying our great wildlife refuges. - And
much more. - Age 15 and up. Great opportunities for Seniors and retirees.
