Looking for Volunteers

The
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is looking for volunteers at its Rhode Island
locations, including:




  • Kettle
    Pond Visitor

  • Trustom
    Pond Wildlife Refuge

  • John
    H. Chafee Wildlife Rrefuge

  • Ninigret
    Wildlife Refuge

  • Block
    Island Wildlife Refuge

  • Sachuest
    Point Wildlife Refuge and Visitor Center



 No
special training is need. Some of the duties include:  




  • Greeting
    visitors and providing information at the front desk, or on the trail.

  • Leading
    tours and providing interpretation to the visiting public and groups.

  • Taking
    part in special projects and events (Plover Monitoring, Green Cafe and
    Wildlife Wednesdays Lecture Series, Kayak Monitoring, Weed Warrior
    Invasive Plant Pulls).

  • Volunteer
    as few or as many hours as you can.

  • Meet
    new people while enjoying our great wildlife refuges.

  • And
    much more. 
  •  Age 15 and up. Great opportunities for Seniors and retirees.
