Narragansett Marijuana Bust: 3 Arrested, $29K and 45 Pounds of Pot Seized
The alleged leader of the ring, Brett Mistofsky, faces drug distribution and tax evasion charges.

State Police said they broke up a major marijuana distribution operation in Narragansett.
Three people were arrested and 45 pounds of pot and about $29,000 in cash were seized, police said.
Among those arrested was 38-year-old Brett Mistofsky, who police said was the leader of the group. Mistofsky, of 30 Salem Trail in Narragansett, was charged with dealing marijuana and hash oil, steroid possession, and tax evasion.

Tonya Bass, 38, who lives at the same residence as Mistofsky, was charged with dealing marijuana and dealing “butane honey oil.” And Thomas Mellor, 43, of 15 Muratore Lane in Narragansett, was charged with dealing marijuana and possessing the drug.
Members of the State Police High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force executed a search warrant Thursday at 7 a.m. at the aforementioned addresses. They also raided buildings at 181 Lakeside Drive and 33 Locust Avenue in Warwick.

Police said they seized 49 marijuana plants, 2 ½ pounds of hash oil, and 23 vials of steroids.
The three individuals were held without bail pending an arraignment.
Mistofsky was also charged with dealing more than five kilograms of marijuana, which carries a maximum fine of $1 million. His tax evasion charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
