Narragansett, SK Water Bans Expanded To Weekends

Outdoor water use will be banned from 6 p.m. on Fridays to midnight on Sundays until further notice.

NARRAGANSETT-SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — The odd-even water ban in Narragansett and South Kingstown has been expanded due to a lock of rain and high water demand. Until further notice, outdoor water usage is banned on weekends.

The odd-even water ban was put in place earlier this month for the following customers:

  • SUEZ water system customers
  • Town of South Kingstown South Shore and Middlebridge water system customers
  • Town of Narragansett: all water system customers

Kingston water district customers are not affected by the ban.

Under the policy, residents with even-numbered addresses can water on even-numbered days, and odd-numbered addresses can do so on odd-numbered days. The new weekend ban applies from 6 p.m. Friday until midnight Sunday.

The ban was put in place due to an expected increase in demand during the summer months, and was expanded following several weeks of dry weather. All residents are encouraged to use water wisely.
