Narragansett's Rosemary Jones: Town Payroll Clerk, 'Treasured' Grandmother Dies at 84
She was a payroll clerk for the town of Narragansett for 24 years

Rosemary M. Jones (Coleman), 84, of Narragansett, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2014, at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness.
She was the beloved wife of Frederick A. Jones, Jr. Born in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Elizabeth (Crozier) Coleman. Mrs. Jones was a payroll clerk for the Town of Narragansett for 24 years before retiring in 1993. For many years her children were told by town employees how much she was missed.

Her enjoyments were Irish music, dancing and sunny days on the town beach. She leaves four children, Maureen J. Chronley, Stephen A., Kevin W. and Lori A. Jones all of Narragansett. She was predeceased by her son, Brian D. Jones, who was lost at sea. She also leaves her treasured grandchildren, Erika Clark, Courtney, Kathleen and Kelly Chronley, Leah, Mitchell, Brendan and Hanako Jones and Jessica Thompson; six great grandchildren; and two sisters, Margaret Coletta of Glastonbury, CT and Catherine Joly of Cumberland. She was predeceased by her much loved older brother, John Stewart Coleman and her beloved younger sister, Elizabeth “Bettie” Hogan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 11 AM in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Pt. Judith Rd, Narragansett. Burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston. Visiting hours Thursday from 4-7 PM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Point Judith Fisherman’s Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box 3315, Narragansett, RI 02882.
