1. Narragansett Residents Question Boston Neck Road Housing (upriseri.com) — Narragansett residents are pressing the Town Council over plans for affordable housing on two wet, R80-zoned lots at Boston Neck Road and Old Boston Neck Road, arguing the site is unsuitable and conflicts with the comprehensive plan. In response, councilors unanimously scheduled an Oct. 19 work session with developers to review environmental constraints, traffic concerns, and density questions before any proposal moves forward.

2. Narragansett Fire Station 3 Bond: $3M Question on Ballot (upriseri.com) — Narragansett voters will soon decide whether to approve a $3 million, 20‑year bond to expand and renovate Fire Station 3 on Boston Neck Road, adding bunk rooms and modern safety upgrades. The fire chief estimates the project would cost the average homeowner about $21 a year in taxes, though at least one resident questioned whether the long‑term cost is being underestimated.

3. Narragansett, Jamestown schools consider sharing superintendent (coastalabc.com) — Narragansett and Jamestown school officials are weighing a plan to share a single superintendent as both districts face declining enrollment and high housing costs that affect student numbers. With Narragansett's superintendent retiring in January, leaders say a joint hire could save about $90,000 annually while keeping each community's separate school committees, budgets, and day-to-day classroom experience unchanged, pending upcoming committee votes.

4. Sexual Assaults at URI - The Numbers Have Changed Over the Past Decade (golocalprov.com) — URI's latest federal crime data show reported campus rapes rising to eight in 2024, with officials stressing support services and clearer reporting options for survivors, including those living off campus in Narragansett.
