Oceanfront Narragansett Home Goes Up in Flames
A house on Major Arnold Road in Narragansett went up in flames Tuesday evening.
NARRAGANSETT, RI—A house on Major Arnold Road in Narragansett went up in flames on Tuesday.
A large plume of smoke could be seen along the Narragansett shoreline as the house burned.
Members of the Narragansett Fire Department responded to the fire at around 6 p.m. They were joined by members of the North Kingstown Fire Department and Providence Canteen.

The house sits along the water not far from Scarborough State Beach.

Crews battled the blaze for more than a half hour before getting control. By the time the flames were out, the house was completely destroyed.

Nobody was seriously hurt and the occupants made it out safely, firefighters said.
Two firefighters were treated for heat-related issues.
The fire is now under investigation.
