Pic of the Day: A Benefit Street Sketch

Edward Huff tries to go out and sketch for about an hour every morning.

Normally, when we post a picture of the day here on the Patch, it’s of a majestic sunset over Narragansett Bay, a surfer riding a wave, or something along those lines.

Last Thursday, Edward Huff of the Rhody360 Blog, sent along this image and said “why not a sketch for a pic of the day?”

Our thought: why not?

As Huff explained, “I get out just about every morning before work and sketch for an hour or so. This morning I took my coffee and met my friend Kathy and we sketched along Benefit Street in Providence. ”

What Huff calls a “sketch” others might see as a lovely watercolor of an historic piece of Providence architecture.

Check out the small details, such as the many panes of glass in the windows, the shadows of the signs hanging from the facade, or the air conditioning unit jutting from the top rightmost window.
