Police Log: Identity Thefts Reported In South Kingstown
The following reports describe the actions of the South Kingstown Police Department from Monday, may 16 through the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 18.

The South Kingstown Police are investigating two complaints of identity fraud this week. One complaint was originally reported on May 4 by an out-of-state caller reporting that several purchases made in his name occurred in South Kingstown. The suspect used a credit card to purchase food and fuel in South Kingstown. The investigation remains open. On Monday, May 16 police received another call from a different victim regarding fraudulent use of a bank card. According to the complainant over $2,900 was charged between May 13 and 14 in Connecticut and New Hampshire. The case has been forwarded to the fraud division.
Arrests
Matthew Caluscusao, 22, of 91 Hickory Dr. in North Kingstown was arrested on Monday, May 16 around 9:18 p.m. for reckless driving after a traffic stop on Mooresfield Road. He was taken to SKPD, processed, and released with a Fourth District Court summons for May 26.

Steven Marcotte, 36, of 48 Dam St. was arrested for domestic violation of a no contact order on Tuesday, may 17 after a female called the police report him in her home. Police arrived at the home and found Marcotte indeed at the residence. He was placed under arrest, taken to SKPD and secured for the night.

On Monday, May 16 the South Kingstown Police received a phone complaint from a woman on MacArthur Avenue stating that someone had entered her husband’s Jeep and taken an iPod nano. According to the report the culprit allegedly attempted to take a large CD player from the car as well, but fled without the item.
On Monday, May 16 around 10:00 a.m. police responded to a house on Curtis Corner Road to take a complaint of felony theft. The complainant stated that sometime between May 14 and the night of May 15 someone stole approximately $6,000 worth of welding equipment and supplies. Police are investigating a possible lead into the theft at this time.
On Monday, May 16 an officer responded to the lobby of SKPD to take a complaint of breaking and entering. The complainant stated that some time in the last 24 hours someone broke into her home on Webster Trail and stole a large amount of jewelry. The total value of the items is believed to be over $500. Later in the day other members of the complainant’s family contacted the police to state that some of the items had been located inside the house.
On Monday, May 16 around 6:00 p.m. police responded to the area of the Wakefield Elementary School for a juvenile female who had run away from the Lighthouse Center fro Youths. After approximately one hour of searching the missing female was located on Kingstown Road. She was later transported to South County Hospital for an evaluation.
On Tuesday, May 17 around 7:00 p.m. a n officer patrolling Old Mountain Field came across an allegedly suspicious vehicle. The officer made contact with the vehicle’s operator and passengers, and later learned that one of the passengers was reported missing by West Warwick Police on Thursday, May 12. The 17-year-old female was transported to SKPD, where her mother later picked her up.
