Police Log: November 22, 2010
The following reports describe the actions of the South Kingstown Police Department from Friday, Nov. 19 to Nov. 22.
Burglars Caught In The Act
On Friday, Nov. 19 around 10:20am South Kingstown Police were alerted to two males in a black car on Bridgetown Road acting suspiciously. Police arrived at the scene described by the caller and walked up to a house where a bulkhead had been left open. Officers noticed voices coming from the basement and ordered the men out. Suspects Stephen Reels, 52, of 302A Curtis Corner Road and Michael McGraw, 36, of 520 Pond Street came out of the basement and were taken into custody. A search of their persons found various pieces of jewelry as well.
The two were taken into custody and charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny, and felony conspiracy. Later in the day a third suspect, Kelly Evans, 33, of 104A Ninigret Road in Narragansett was taken into custody and similarly charged in connection with the crime.

House Party Visited Twice by Police
On Friday, Nov. 19 police were called to 3642 Tower Hill Road for a report of a loud party. Police discovered 100 to 150 guests at the house and began to break up the crowd. Police entered the house and attempted to find a homeowner or renter, eventually finding Matthew Pena, 230, of 41 Nomahegan Drive in Westfield, N.J. Pena had an active bench warrant for his arrest from fourth district court and was taken into custody. He was also charged with procurement of alcohol for minors.

Later that night police were called again to the residence for an intoxicated person with the possibility of alcohol poisoning. Police and rescue assisted the individual and checked the house for any remaining guests. In one room they found renter Michael Olenick, 21, of 15 Old Stable Road in Demarest, N.J. He was also taken into custody for procurement of alcohol for minors. Police requested the help of the Union Fire District to gain entry to locked rooms in the house to look for people in need of assistance. Police then heard a loud crash and investigated another room, where a third renter had broken through a casement and fled the scene.
Medical Call Yields Procurement Arrests
Around 1am on Sunday, Nov. 21 police were called to a medical assistance at 33 Torrey Road. At the scene they found a male lying unconscious on his back. He was transported by SKEMS and police determined that renters Brian Pinsky, 23, Patrick Brown, 23, and Christopher Medeiros, 26, had provided alcohol to minors during a party in which the injured party had fallen because of suspected impairment. All three were taken into custody and charged with procurement of alcohol for minors.
Other Arrests and Incidents
Brian Sullivan, 19, of 13 Sabatia Trail in Saunderstown was cited for possession of alcohol by a minor after he was seen leaving Patsy's Package Store in Peace Dale with two 30-packs of beer on Friday, Nov. 19. The alcohol was seized and he was released from the scene with a summons.
On Friday, Nov. 19 around 8pm police were called to 91 Bayberry Road for a complaint of breaking and entering. The victim stated the back door had been damaged and several different sums of money from around the house had been taken. The victim estimated around $900 in loose change and bills had been stolen. An investigation is underway.
On Friday, Nov. 19 around 9:40pm police were called to 449 Old North Road for report of breaking and entering. The victim returned home and mistook the front door's open position to be the fault of his children. Later in the evening the victim discovered that over $4,000 worth of change and jewelry had been taken from the home. Police investigating the crime found evidence of forced entry in a smashed basement window, and also found several small pools of blood around the house. The evidence was collected and police have begun an investigation.
Ray Flores, 29, of 16 Curtis Corner Road was arrested after a traffic stop on Sunday, Nov. 21 for an active bench warrant for failure to appear in fourth district court. He was taken to SKPD, processed, and later released after posting bail.
