Polls for Dist. 33 Democratic Special Primary Close at 8 p.m.

There's still time for you to choose between the three Democrats vying for a chance to run in the June special election.

Voters in Narragansett and South Kingstown’s District 33 today will choose a Democrat to run in the June 9 special election to fill the seat vacated by former Rep. Donald J. Lally Jr., who resigned earlier this year.

Turnout has been pretty low so far on Tuesday, according to the South County Independent.

The candidates in the primary are Susan Cicilline-Buonanno, a councilwoman in Narragansett; Carol Hagan McEntee, a councilwoman in South Kingstown; Jason Colonies, a Narragansett resident and employee of the University of Rhode Island athletics department.

The winner of today’s primary will face off against Republican Robert A. Trager and Independent C. Elizabeth Candas.
