Rescued Seal Pups Released Back to Sea in Narragansett

The two female seal pups were treated for various injuries and released back into the sea Thursday.

A par of gray seal pups that were rescued in March were released back into the sea in Narragansett last week.

Connecticut-based Mystic Aquarium released the two females at the State Pier on Thursday. One of the pups was treated for wounds to her flipper and hip; the other was treated for pneumonia and a jaw infection. They were rescued in Newport and Virginia, respectively.
