SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — Several facilities in South Kingstown were closed Monday as the town worked to recover from Tropical Storm Henri, which hit South County hard on Sunday.

Power outages forced the closure of Town Beach, the Neighborhood Guild and the Recreation Center Monday. All programs were canceled, and at the beach, the gate was locked with no lifeguards on duty. Restrooms were closed at all town parks, though they were open at the Wakefield Comfort Station on Main Street.

Gov. Dan McKee said that 85 percent of the town lost power in the storm, reduced to about 65 percent by Monday morning.
