South Kingstown's 2020 4th Of July Fireworks Canceled
The town will hold a virtual flag raising that residents can livestream at home.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — July 4 events across the country will not look the same this year thanks to the coronavirus. Many cities and towns have been forced to cancel the annual Fourth of July events, including in South County. South Kingstown canceled the annual Independence Day celebration at Old Mountain Field, saying it was impossible to have the event safely amid crowd restrictions.
The town will, however, hold a flag raising on the morning of July 4, and will livestream it so residents can virtually attend.
The celebration has been tentatively rescheduled to Oct. 10.
