South Kingstown's Erik Murphy Waived by Boston Celtics

The second-year player could be picked up by another team.

South Kingstown native Erik Murphy was waived by the Boston Celtics.

The Celtics announced the move Tuesday, according to Boston.com.

The Celtics were Murphy’s fourth team since he was drafted by the Chicago Bulls last year. Murphy, 23, saw limited playing time and was traded to the Utah Jazz and then the Cleveland Cavaliers, who in turn traded him to the Celtics guard in a multi-player deal that sent Keith Bogans to the Cavs.
