Police said the public helped them identify a man who was caught on camera breaking into the iconic Matunuck ice cream shop three times.

The man who broke into Vanilla Bean in Matunuck three times this summer has been charged.
And South Kingstown police said the public deserves credit for helping them identify their suspect, who was caught on camera breaking into the popular ice cream shop three times this summer.
Alfred DeFusco, 48, was arraigned Friday and released on $2,000 surety bail and is due to return to court on Oct. 27 for a felony screening conference, police said in a news release.

Defusco, of 28 Park Ave., South Kingstown, allegedly admitted to breaking into the business.
He also allegedly was involved in the theft of items from cars parked in the Matunuck area.
