Wet Tuesday on Tap for Rhode Island
A big, humid and stormy weather system will soak the state on Tuesday.
A humid weather system on its way from the Midwest will bring rain through Tuesday including a chance of major downpours and strong thunderstorms.
It’s unlikely that the thunderstorms will be as powerful as the macroburst that ravaged the state’s urban core last week, but conditions are ripe for heavy downpours, lightning and some strong winds, according to the National Weather Service.
Some areas could experience street flooding and strong gusts of wind up to 50 mph could cause tree limbs to break.
