Six Spots To Watch, and Avoid The Crowds

Want to catch the air show, but not the crowds? We've picked out six great spots to watch the show at your leisure. You can't see the entire show from these spots, but these locations will be perfect for those looking for a more laid-back outing.

  1. Rome Point: You may not be able to see the smaller planes as well, but this little spot tucked away by the water is a nice change of pace and offers a quiet location to catch the show.
  2. North Kingstown Town Beach: Expect a bigger gathering at the town beach than Rome Point, but also expect great views.
  3. The Gateway: Right at the entrance to Quonset, you can sit in or outside your car in the parking lots of Kohl's, Dave's Marketplace, etc., and get some of the best views of the show. If you get a hungry, slip over to for some treats!
  4. Quonset Bike Path: Get some exercise in while you watch the show! Grab the bike or the walking/running shoes and hit up the Quonset Bike Path. Fair warning: it's going to be quite loud down there!
  5. Wilson Park: Bring the Frisbee, volleyball, soccer ball or whatever tickles your fancy and watch the show from Wilson Park.
  6. From The Water: If you have a boat or know someone who does, take it out on the water and watch the show from there. This view might actually beat being at the air show itself, but we'll let you folks make that determination.
