Young Writers Workshop: Storytelling
The Redwood Children’s Library and Athenaeum
Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30pm
2/25/2015-4/1/2015
Ages 8+
Free and open to the public.
The Young Writers Workshops are intended to inspire young people to strengthen and explore the ways in which they interpret and express themselves and the world around them. In this six week session of the workshop, young writers, ages 8+, will experiment with a variety of storytelling methods. By channeling their imagination through poetry, prose, images, music and theater, our young writers will glimpse the vast potential of their creativity, and develop confidence in their own voice.
The first two weeks of the workshop will be spent developing and writing a short story. In the remaining four weeks, participants will retell the same story using music, poetry, painting and theater. On the last Wednesday, parents and friends will be invited to see and participate in the work that has been accomplished.
