Confident Captain, Safe/Sea, and Commander's Weather offer two-day Weather Seminar
Summer is just around the corner, and there's no better time to increase your weather and meteorology knowledge before boating season!

NEWPORT — Confident Captain/Ocean Pros has teamed up with Safe/Sea and world- renowned weather service Commander’s Weather to provide an in-depth seminar on how weather and meteorology affect you as a mariner.
Whether you’re a cruiser, racer, power-boater or professional mariner, this two-day seminar is packed with professional-grade weather knowledge and information to keep you safe and well-informed while underway.
Topics covered include everything from sea breezes to Coriolis Force and hurricanes. The seminar will also cover popular cruising routes and hands-on work. It’s a great opportunity to get professional consultation from a world-class weather professional.

Commanders’ Weather has been providing worldwide marine weather forecasts for racing and cruising yachts for more than 20 years. Its meteorologists support almost 6,000 clients worldwide, including America’s Cup contender Luna Rossa, Maserati, the Brazilian Olympic Sailing Team, Quantum Racing and former single handed non-stop circumnavigation record holder Dame Ellen MacArthur. Experts work closely with cruising clients throughout the world’s seas, preparing boat specific routing and forecasts.

The seminar runs Saturday and Sunday, April 25 and 26 at the home of Confident Captain/Ocean Pros, 344 Aquidneck Ave., Newport East. The cost is $395, and the class runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
