CUSHING EXHIBIT AT ISHERWOOD GALLERY

Isherwood Gallery is hosting the Frederick Ames Cushing exhibit “Recent Paintings”, the Newport artist’s first solo show of oil and watercolor paintings. The opening reception is Saturday, August 13th from 6 to 9pm.  Featured will be Newport landscapes, many depicting the artist’s favorite scenes along Ocean Drive and the Cushing family estate “The Ledges.” Also on display will be the triptych “Mermaids” painted in homage to the artist’s grandfather, Howard Gardiner Cushing, namesake of the Newport Art Museum’s Cushing Gallery. Watercolors and oils of Costa Rica round out the show. The reception is free and open to the public. The show is on display through September 4th.

Isherwood Gallery is located at 108 William St, Newport, Rhode Island, diagonally across Bellevue Avenue from The Tennis Hall of  Fame. Hours are Wednesday through Saturday 10:30am to 5pm and Sunday from 1 to 5pm. www.isherwoodgallery.com  401-619-1116
