Kay/Catherine's Patronesses: A Walking Tour of Women and Newport Architecture

In the mid-nineteenth century, women took advantage of Newport's resort culture to build interesting, fanciful houses. Nowhere is this trend more evident than in the Kay/Catherine neighborhood, which is home to more than 50 buildings built by women.  This tour visits some of the most notable and significant of these houses, including the Wormeley House, the Porter House, and the Mason Sisters House. Presented with Newport History Tours, Reservations required; departure information will be given when reservations are made.
