On Saturday, July 2nd at 9:30 am the City of Newport will officially reopen King Park Beach to swimming. The beach has been closed to swimming since the summer of 2004 due to pollution concerns and budget constraints. The beach will again be staffed by a certified lifeguard daily: Monday through Friday from 10 am to 4 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm.
