"Music in the Galleries" MSD Quintet

The Newport Art Museum's "Music in the Galleries" concert series continues on Sunday, May 20 at 2 pm, with the MSD Quintet, in the Museum's Griswold House, 76 Bellevue Avenue, Newport. 

Based in Newport, Rhode Island, the MSD Quintet performs energetic contemporary jazz in venues across Southern New England. With influences from the Yellowjackets, Herbie Hancock and Miles Davis along with Rock and R&B sounds from the sixties, MSD Quintet has created their own unique sound. The MSD Quintet includes Michael Johnson on keyboards, Peter Davis on bass, D.J. Cordeiro on drums, Jon Lavieire on tenor sax, and Doug Woolverton on trumpet/ flugelhorn. Admission is $10 for Newport Art Museum members and $15 for non-members. No reservations are necessary, but seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
