Seamen's Bridgefest Music

Seamen's Church Institute will present three music programs as part of the full list of Newport Bridgefest events next week.

Each concert will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm in the Mariner's Lounge on 18 Market Square. The programs are free and open to the public, although donations will be gratefully accepted for the musicians and to benefit Seamen's Church Institute.

On Monday, August 1st, the program will feature Mary Brizard. A folk and gospel musician, Mary's most recent album, "Kingdom of Heaven," was nominated for 4 Grammy awards. She will be performing her own original work as well as traditional songs on the mandolin and guitar.

Tuesday, August 2nd will bring local musicians Tim May and Tom Perrotti. Both men are local musicians playing the guitar, banjo, and mandolin. They will be playing original and traditional songs in the Celtic and Bluegrass styles.

Wednesday, August 3rd, Jon Campbell, a local fisherman will be performing. Jon has documented life along the coast for over 30 years with his famous sea-shanties. His live performances are known for being spirited and energetic.
