Visual presentaion on Panama and Colombia travel adventure

Local Newporter Merrilee Zellner will present a slide presentation on Panama and Colombia on Wednesday, May 16, at 7pm in the program room at the Newport Public Library, 300 Spring St.

Merrilee spent the recent winter traveling on a shoe-string budget through Panama and Colombia.  In Panama her presentation will highlight Casco Viejo, the old colonial section of Panama City, and the Panama Canal.  In Colombia we will explore the colonial port of Cartagena, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with its massive fortifications and cobblestone streets.  We will also explore the beautiful city of Medellin which sits in a valley high in the Andes, plus nearby smaller colonial towns.

Discussion will follow.
