Construction on the bridge began in 2017, and resumed on Sunday. The first phase of this year's construction is expected to last until early August and will cause lane closures during non-peak hours. During the first phase, crews will install permanent signs that will show which lanes are open in the future as well as perform routine maintenance and repair the expansion joint header on the deck of the bridge.
Bridge deck repairs will resume during the second phase of construction in August. In 2017, crews replaced approximately 1,000 feet of the eastbound side of the bridge deck. More information on phase two of construction is expected to be released later this summer.
