Meunier is the winner of this year’s No Roof Left Behind Contest sponsored by A-1 Roofing and Construction, a well-known company that works a bevy of jobs across Aquidneck Island led by owner Sean Napolitano.
“She is a very deserving recipient of this award. We are proud here at A-1 Roofing and Construction to be a part of this great program and be able to help one of our own in need,” Napolitano said.

Meunier’s new roof will be installed on Sept. 12. Everyone is invited to come and lend a hand and wish Meunier well.
Meunier was nominated by her daughter, Amanda, who said in her submission that her mom was born with one hand “but she has never let that stop her.”
“She has lost my dad (1993) as well as my step-dad 2013) to cancer. She always tries to fix things around the house herself which found her with a severe leg injury last summer when sheet rock fell on her leg in the garage,” she said.
Now that she has healed, Meunier realizes that she can’t do everything all by herself. Finances have been tight, especially since she suffers from diabetes and chronic pain caused by multiple surgeries after a bad car accident in 1996 that left her disabled.
On a fixed income, ”that about covers the monthly bills she has and to maintain the home,” so a free roof means the world to the family.
“My mom is a very proud person who never gives up and has always tried her best. It’s time we repay her for all her hard work,” Amanda Meunier said.
The No Roof Left Behind program is a nationwide program that offers communities a chance to support a local family in need. The program offers tools and resources for contractors and roofing companies that step up to the plate.
