Meat Delivery Service Expands To Newport: Coronavirus
Newport residents can get weekly deliveries of meat from D'Artagnan.
NEWPORT, RI — A new delivery service is available to Newport residents amid coronavirus-related grocery shortages. D'Artagnan, a New Jersey-based sustainable meat distributor announced that delivery fees will be waived for the near future.
The service offers hormone-free beef, poultry, game and mushrooms delivered to homes, the company said. Usually used by restaurants, D’Artagnan is offering delivery to Newport residents within two-hour windows every Saturday. Orders must be at least $150 and can be placed online.
"In times of crisis, D’Artagnan’s core value remains the same – to bring food raised right to American tables," President Andy Wertheim said. "We’re trying to do our part by providing consumers safe and convenient access to chef-quality meats, as well as bring comfort to our neighbors by addressing their very real shopping challenges."
