Newport Lions Begin Eye Screening in Aquidneck Island Schools

Newport Lions have been doing eye screening for 21 years

Beginning in 1995, the Newport Lions Club began vision screening in several Newport Schools. Today this community service has grown to include all but four Aquidneck Island Schools. With the help of the Portsmouth Lions Club and friends of Newport Lions, over 2,500 students are screened each year.
