Newport Police Log: Police Arrest Teen With Air Rifle and Ammo
The following information was provided by the Newport Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

A 17-year-old Newport boy was arrested around 3:05 am on Tuesday for charges of weapons possession and possession of ammunition by a minor.
Police were searching for another person when they stopped the suspect and saw a bulge under his t-shirt. The officer removed an air rifle from his shirt.
The suspect said he was hunting squirrels with the gun, but later told police he was having trouble with out boys whom he thought were “Bloods” gang members. He reportedly told police he wanted to scare them with the gun.

Officers arrested him and transported him to the Rhode Island Training School.

Kyree Burrows, 18, of 9 Tilley Ave., Middletown, was arrested around 1:39 am on Sunday for a domestic vandalism charge.
- Meaghan Woolhouse, 20, of 145 Park Holm, Newport, was arrested around 11:14 am on Monday for domestic abuse with a deadly weapon and domestic vandalism charges.
Drug/Alcohol Arrests
- Lisa Lima, 38, of 63 Swift St., New Bedford Mass., was arrested around 3:20 am on Sunday for a DUI charge and a refusal to take a chemical test charge.
- Christopher M. Smith, 21, of 122 Van Zandt Ave., Newport, was arrested on Saturday for an active warrant and three charges of drug distribution.
- Dominic Shippole, 19, of 10 Towel Dr., Holden, Mass., was cited around 6:20 pm on Saturday for possession of alcohol by a minor.
Other Arrests
- J'Liina Mangana, 23, of 90 Girard Ave., Newport, was arrested around 7:55 pm on Saturday for a simple assault charge.
- Jay A. Bradley, 19, of 184 Prospect St., Somerset, Mass., was arrested around 2:38 pm on charges of larceny under $500 and fraudulent use of credit cards.
- Theodore J. Williams, 37, of 7 Gibbs St., Worcester, Mass., was arrested around 2:01 am on Monday for a disorderly conduct charge.
- Amory L. Ross., Jr., 27, of 169 Wellington Ave., Newport, was cited around 2:55 am on Monday for a noise violation.
- Meaghan Woolhouse, 20, of 145 Park Holm, Newport, was arrested around 11:14 am on Monday for domestic abuse with a deadly weapon and domestic vandalism charges.
