NEWPORT, RI — Easton's Beach will reopen June 4, the city of Newport announced Thursday. The snack bar will be open this season, and season passes will be available, officials said.

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, parking and services offered will be limited this year. Lifeguards will be on duty from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and parking will be capped at 300 vehicles. Limited parking will be available for Newport residents in the West Lot. Restrooms will be open for beachgoers to use.

Earlier this month, the city announced that bathhouses and reserved parking will not be offered this year. In addition, the carousel and Save the Bay Aquarium will remain closed until further notice, and the weekly concert series has been suspended.
