Perry Mill Tavern Manager Promises Changes after Fighting Incident
"This is not what we're about here," said Tyson Ford.

A manager of the Perry Mill Taven in Newport said recent disturbances at the bar, including a major fight that broke out early Monday morning that led to the arrest of a heavily intoxicated 18-year-old, will not be tolerated.
“We do not tolerate people in here fighting, we do not let 18-year-olds drink,” said Manager Tyson Ford. “This is not what we’re about.”
Ford said everyone involved in the incident earlier this week, including a bartender and bouncer who did not call 911 when the fight broke out, will be reprimanded.

At the same time, Ford pledged to tighten up any holes in the ship that a police report suggested may have contributed to the brawl.
Police said staff at the bar might have left the door unattended when it got busy Sunday night, which is when the 18-year-old likely slipped in the door.

Ford said staff will undergo extra training to ensure that everyone in the bar is properly checked for ID.
He also said the weekly “Latin Night” on Sunday, which is when the fight broke out, will be cancelled until further notice.
Ford said the establishment could lose its liquor license if more problems occur and he vowed to do everything he could to ensure no further problems originate from it.
