Providence Named One Of The Worst Cities For Football Fans
Providence ranked near the bottom of WalletHub's list of best cities for football fans.
PROVIDENCE, RI — Rhode Island's capitol city is one of the worst in the country for football fans, according to a new ranking from WalletHub, despite its proximity to the New England Patriots, and, of course, Tom Brady. Providence was named 243 out of 245 in the recently released ranking.
Boston, the hub of New England sports, came in second place, beaten only by Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
To determine the ranking, WalletHub weighed 21 factors including the number for NFL teams, ticket prices, college football teams and more. These weighted scores were then used to determine a final score out of 100. Providence was awarded a measly 6.69 points, while Boston was awarded 56.15.
