RI Weather Forecast: Showers, Storms Interrupt Tuesday Plans
After heat indices top 100 degrees yet again, expect hit-or-miss thunderstorms and rain showers, the NWS says.

For many people, a mini-vacation starts at some point Tuesday. Bust out the grills and open the swimming pools - just keep an eye on the radar before you do.
The National Weather Service said this morning "hit or miss showers and thunderstorms will develop today." The storms will come with heavy rain and strong winds.
The NWS simulated radar below says when to expect some rain, but it's a lot of spottiness from the mid-afternoon to the early evening. The northern half of Rhode Island is particularly at risk of these storms tonight.

Meanwhile, a heat advisory is still in effect across Rhode Island. Much of the state is expected to have a heat index of close to 100 degrees today. Some communities could enter Day 5 of a heat wave, meaning the temperatures have broken 90 degrees in each day.

The Fourth of July forecast is still developing. The current forecast calls for temperatures in the 80s, and the threat for isolated storms should end around sunset, the NWS said, so the fireworks shows should still go on. Patch will give you an updated July 4 forecast as soon as something solidifies.
