Tax Day 2019: What You Need To Know In Rhode Island
Tax day is coming up fast. Here's what you need to know if you still haven't filed.

Tax Day is coming up fast, which mean Rhode Islanders only have a few days left to prepare and file their taxes. If you're not filing online, paper forms must be signed, sealed and delivered to the local post office before end of day on April 15. USPS locations are not open on Sundays, and most post offices close early on Saturday, so options are limited to make sure tax forms are postmarked before Monday.
To make sure taxes are filed on time, the IRS encourages taxpayers to file online. Filing online ensures quicker processing, with more customers receiving their refund within three weeks.
In Rhode Island, paper returns should be mailed to: The Rhode Island Division of Taxation, One Capitol Hill, Providence, RI 02908-5806.

To make sure mailed forms are not returned, make sure the address is clearly written on the envelope and that there is enough postage. If there are several pages of additional forms, additional postage might be needed to cover the added weight.
