The Dog Days of Summer Are Here!

Remember last winter when you were really looking forward to summer?

I sure do. As I shivered with cold and contemplated my incredible heating bills with a growing sense of panic, I dreamt of summer in Newport. I promised myself then that no matter how hot and uncomfortable it got, how sticky and stifling, I would enjoy it, I wouldn't complain.

I must have been delusional. I am officially lodging my complaint. Yes, right here on The Newport Patch. It is too hot! OK, I'm an ingrate. I should be thankful summer is here. I don't care. It is uncomfortable and there has been a run on air conditioners and fans at local stores.

The good news is, when this heat wave is over, there will be so much to enjoy locally, and I intend to do just that. Walks on the beach and Cliffwalk, music festivals, going for a spin on Ocean Drive...I will hang in there, hope you all do, too. Stay cool.
