2nd Annual "Cause For a Concert"
A benefit concert to support the Holiday Giving Program sponsored by the North Kingstown Senior Center

The second annual “Cause For a Concert” will take place Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 4 PM at St. Bernard’s Church, 275 Tower Hill Road, North Kingstown. The concert, which is free and open to the public, will benefit the N.K. Senior Center’s Holiday Giving Program which provides gifts and food at the holiday season for those in need. Monetary donations will be gratefully accepted. Please bring a non-perishable food item.
Inspirational music will be provided by several local church choirs, the Kyrie Road Praise Band and the North Kingstown Community Chorus. Each group will perform individually followed by two musical selections from the combined choruses.
The idea for “Cause For a Concert” came from a feeling of helplessness after the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Elaine Alexander, concert coordinator, and Eric Van Dervort, director of the combined choruses, wanted to do something in our community to promote hope for the future. The answer was to gather together local choruses to share the message of hope and love through music and to encourage people to give donations of food and money to support programs that help those in need.
