5 Top Cocktails in Rhode Island

Whenever I am on a date night with my husband, it is either to relax away from home or to celebrate some good news in our life.  We rarely ever go out just to go out.  We keep it as a special time we share together.  On occasions, my tastebuds lead the way to the restaurant choice–not for just the food but primarily for my before dinner cocktail.  Here are my top 5 in no specific order.

1. Fat Belly's Pub: Lemon-drop: Pale yellow vodka confection rimmed with sugar as a surprising treat.  I like to drink it with their Blackened Chicken Arugula Salad.
2. Siena:  Orange Grey Goose Cosmo, not too sweet, with lots of lime:  They shake it up well into a tornadic froth of cold pink yumminess.  It is always the perfect combo of tart lime with a hit of cranberry juice sweetness.
3. India Restaurant: Nirvana. Calling all ginger lovers–run to your closest India Restaurant and order one of these.  It is a blissfully perfect mix of fresh ginger infused vodka, Grand Marnier, lemon and a brown sugar rim with a tangy slice of pickled ginger on the side.  My mouth is water just writing about it.
4. Perro Salado: Spicy Cucumber Margarita, salt on the rocks–Dangerously delicious with a kiss of summer cucumber. After you sip, you get a tiny hit of heat from the pepper. Ah, it makes my mouth sing–especially, "I want some guacamole!"
5. Plum Point Bistro: Grey Goose Dirty Martini with 3 olives–just the right amount of cold, bitter and salt, plus a snack on the side!  Please note that I do bring my own glass: I simply don't care for the style of glasses and mine makes me happy.  They are very accommodating to my little quirk.
