Bizarre Sea Creatures in Narragansett Bay

Wickford Yacht Club - Seminar Series - Dave Beutel of the RI DEM will present this interesting lecture on what lives in our waters

Wickford Yacht Club invites members and guests to a program featuring Dave Beutel, Aquaculture Coordinator of the Rhode Island CRMC. Dave is an expert on the Rhode Island Fisheries.

As our second seminar in our series on what lives in our waters, we will move into Narragansett Bay. Dave Beutel will review the background of why Rhode Island has its variety of sea life. He will then talk about 29 odd creatures that inhabit Narragansett Bay. The talk will focus on why each animal is odd, and will include recordings of the underwater sounds that many of these animals make. Dave has handled all of these animals, so it will be interesting to actually see what the 29 animals are.

The presentation will begin at 7:30pm, on February 12th, following a meet-and-greet social period starting at 7pm. The program will be at WYC. There is no charge to attend.
