UPDATED: Body Found In Gateway Parking Lot
Police believe the man may have been in a black pickup truck for several days.
Police found a man's partially decomposed body in a pickup truck in the Gateway parking lot on Route 1 Saturday afternoon after an employee at Supercuts reported that the vehicle had been sitting in the lot unattended for several days.
"The car's been here for at least two weeks," said Lizz DeNuccio, an employee at the across the parking lot. "It's the only car in the parking lot when we leave at night."
According to North Kingstown Police Chief Thomas Mulligan, the black Ford pickup truck is registered to a man in Cranston. Police are unsure if he is the man found in the car, but believe he is approximately 40 years old. Mulligan said the car's registered owner has a history of alcohol abuse.

On-lookers reported a foul odor as authorities removed the body for transport to the medical examiner's office. The investigation is ongoing, but police do not initially expect foul play.
At this time, it appears there was no missing persons report filed for the man in the truck. The positive identity of the man and notification to his next of kin are pending a medical examination.
