David Swain, Once Accused of Murdering Wife, Pleads Not Guilty to DUI
The former Jamestown councilor was arrested in December and charged with driving under the influence.

David Swain, the Rhode Island man who was once accused of murdering his wife while scuba diving in the British Virgin Islands, appeared in court Thursday and denied a charge of driving under the influence last December, reports The Providence Journal.
Swain, 56, of 993 Middle Road, in Portsmouth on a charge of driving under the influence after his vehicle reportedly nearly struck a police cruiser.
According to The Journal, Swain pleaded not guilty to the charge Thursday. A judge ordered Swain's release. He is due back in court on Jan. 26.
