Nicholas Whiteley, 21, of North Kingstown was upgraded to fair condition Tuesday evening after first arriving at Rhode Island Hospital last Sunday in critical condition. According to police, Whiteley was ejected from the vehicle.
Christopher Mortin, the other survivor from the deadly rollover on Shippeetown Road in East Greenwich, was treated and released the same day after .

According to reports, Whiteley's vehicle struck two boulders and went airborne before hitting a telephone pole and rolling over. Two North Kingstown teenagers – and – both died in the accident.
East Greenwich police said speed appeared to be a factor and are awaiting toxicology reports to determine if alcohol was involved.
