Bird walk planned at the Gilbert Stuart Nature Trail on May 7th. 2011
Walter Berry and Wayne Munns, biologists, and experienced bird-watchers and behaviorists, will lead a birding walk at the Gilbert Stuart Museum on May 7 from 7:00am to 9:00am on the Gilbert Stuart Nature Trail and adjoining areas. Mr. Berry and Mr. Munns were consulted during the development of the Museum’s nature trail concerning its potential for bird-watching walks (high).
Ken Weber identified 85 different species of birds in the Gilbert Stuart Museum area. At this time of year, the birds include year round residents, migratory birds and, as most bird watchers know, since the buckies are running at this time of year in Gilbert Stuart Stream and climbing the Museum’s fish ladder, also include those bird species with a taste for fish.
