On April 24, the Beechwood Bookbuff Book Club will discuss “The Gods of Newport,” a book by John Jakes, well know as the “the godfather of historical novelists.” Written in 2006, Jakes takes the reader on a journey through a well-known period in Newport’s history:1893 and before, through 1897.
