Join us at Smith Castle for Opening Weekend - Bridge to the Past.
Explore the 17th century, shop for pottery or tour the lower rooms of the historic 1600's house. Colonial re-enactors will be there to demonstrate 17th century customs, fashions, foods and folkways. You'll meet pirates, sutlers, soldiers and artisans. A few of the other activities for the weekend include:
- Neal Kirk and Free Men of the Sea will launch an exhibit, PIRATES! Against all Flags.
- Brown University Madrigal Singers will walk the grounds performing 17th century songs.
- Interactive musical performances for the children as well as colonial children's games to play.
- Vendors will have colonial or handmade craft items and delicious food for purchase.
- May Pole Dancing complete with floral and ribbon May crowns created by some talented NK High School girls.
