Forest Park 4th Annual “Fly Like an Eagle” 5K Road Race MAY 22, 2011!
Forest Park Elementary School will be holding its 4th annual 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, May 22nd at 3pm. This year’s race will take place in the neighborhood around the school. This is one of the biggest fundraisers for the elementary school and a healthy way to kick off the spring. Last year the race enjoyed 175 registered runners with an additional 100 supporters and families. This year the race plans to have well over 200 registered runners.

“We are very excited about this opportunity to provide a family-fun event that emphasizes health, fitness and community involvement.” This is a great race for the first time or the seasoned runner. It’s a beautiful scenic course that winds around lovely, quiet, suburban neighborhoods. And this year the course is certified!” This is an event for the whole family to be involved in. We have face painting; a bounce house, courtesy of West Bay YMCA , Great Harvest Bread Company handing out “ race rolls” and the Ice Cream Factory will provide their delicious ice cream for all the race participants and families. Our event will also include a raffle with great prizes such as Paw Sox family pack tickets, DL Sports Photography photo session and Holistic Health ,1 hour massage!!

Children’s races will be held at 2:30pm (no registration necessary). The first 200 runners will receive a race t-shirt and a goody bag containing a Johnson & Johnson first aid kit, aveeno sunscreen and Great Harvest Trek Bars.
The race course features 2 water stations and timers at each mile marker.
Registration ends May 20,2011 for the $18.00 rate. $20.00 race day

DIRECTIONS: On Rt.1 in NK, turn onto Chadsey Road at the Ice Cream Factory, go right on Forest Park Drive, onto Woodlawn Drive to Forest Park School.
