October 15th - Turtle Power
Our special guest tonight will be Michelangelo, the orange turtle, of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! He’ll pose for pictures and hang out with us as we spend some extra time learning about our turtles and tortoise here at Biomes. And as long as Darwin the Tortoise cooperates, every child will be able to make a clay impression of a ‘scute’ on his shell to bring home!

October 22nd - Owls of RI with Audubon Society
Learn about the owls that live in Rhode Island and discover their unique adaptations for hunting at night. You will also get a chance to meet a couple live owls! And since we’re so close to Halloween, we’ll make a great Halloween owl craft and explore the reasons we connect owls with witches and Halloween!

October 29th - 2nd Annual Halloween Party
Costume Contest! Prizes given out in a number of categories with the grand prize being a 1 year family membership.
Trick-or-Treat trail! Visit each of the animals on our trick-or-treat trail and receive some cool, marine-related treats! (For the safety of our animals, we will not be giving out candy.)
Darwin’s Pumpkin Patch! Darwin will have his very own pumpkin patch to explore and snack on! You’ll never see a happier tortoise than when he’s in a pumpkin patch on Halloween!
Craft table with a fun, easy Halloween-themed craft to make and bring home. Touchy-Feely Boxes! Do you dare to put your hand in to feel what’s inside??!!

November 5th - Animal Experiences with Dave Marchetti

Animal Experiences with Dave Marchetti is a fun filled hour with over 20 of Dave’s animals including turtles, lizards, snakes, tree frog, hedgehog, chinchilla and Wally the alligator. After learning about some of the animals the audience is welcome to touch and hold all their favorites.

November 12th - Superhero Training with Spidey and Wonder Girl
Have you ever wanted to be a super-hero?? Tonight is your chance to get training from two of the best super-heroes around! Spider Man and Wonder Woman will share their story and their super-hero moves with us as we learn to be just like them! We’ll also have a craft to make and plenty of time to pose for pictures.

November 19th - Bwana Iguana Reptile Adventure
Have a wildly exciting time with Bwana Iguana Reptile Adventure. Ray Ward`s award winning reptile show is phenomenally entertaining for people of all ages, and it`s funny, and educational as well. Get up close, and personal, with Shelly The Flipping Turtle, Chunky The Dancing Lizard, and Mellow Yellow The Wonder Python. Someone will learn to become a “highly trained reptile wrangling professional” perhaps it will be you!

November 26th - No Family Night
Happy Thanksgiving!

December 3rd - Squid Dissection

We’ve brought one of our most popular in-class programs right back here to Biomes! This squid dissection will be the most gross, fun you’ll have all summer! One of our educators will bring you through a full squid dissection and we’ll end the night by writing with the squid pen with it’s very own ink! Dissection is designed for ages 8 and up but all ages are welcome.

Second Annual Visit from Santa! December 10th

Skip the lines at the mall and come visit Santa right here at Biomes! We’ll set up our own special photo spot and have a professional photographer here to capture your special moment with Santa! There will also be a marine-themed holiday craft and some fun science activities.

A Holiday Celebration with Anna! December 17th
Princess Anna will help us get into the holiday spirit with some fun songs and games! We’ll also make an Olaf-inspired holiday craft and Anna will pose for pictures and sign autographs for all her friends!
