Makey Makey Inventor’s Workshop, Sunday, December 28, 2 - 3pm

Learn how to use everyday items to make a game controller for the computer using the Makey Makey! Craft a sword to play Minecraft or mold a gamepad from Playdoh to play 2D games. You can even learn how to re-program keyboard inputs for the Makey Makey using Arduino software. Ages 7 and above. To register, email Thi Sarkis, tsarkis@ricomputermuseum.org

The Learning Lab is chock-full of tech toys such as Arduinos, Raspberry Pi microcomputers, vintage computers, breadboards and retro video games. It is a great place to get connected, find resources on gaming, music, programming and more.

Visit our website to learn more and get detailed directions. The Learning Lab is located at “The Meadows Professional Office Park, 1130 Ten Road, North Kingstown, Rhode Island. We are in Building D, Suite 103A, which is the last building on the lower lot.

The purpose of this initiative is to help young people become competent and ethical users of technology. RICM encourages teens to use the Learning Lab to gain greater digital literacy with the help of our local volunteers who are qualified and trusted professionals.
