UPDATED: Jaws of Life Needed in Two Car Accident on Post Road
One driver is being transported to the hospital.
North Kingstown police and fire responded to a two car accident on Post Rd. at Peachtree Rd. just before 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two vehicles involved were a black Honda Accord and a silver SUV.
The Jaws of Life were needed to extract the driver of the SUV, which was upside down in the road approximately 100 feet from the other vehicle when police and fire arrived. The man driving the SUV appears to be responsive but is being transported to the hospital. The driver of the Honda Accord was not injured.
According to North Kingstown police, the SUV was driving south on Post Road when it was struck on the right side by the Accord.

"I was driving north on Post road and just saw the car go up in the air," said Rose O'Brien. "I've never seen anything like it. My heart's still pounding."
Most of Post Road was blocked as crews cleared the scene.
